Summer
Canada
My brother-in law and sister-in law, Aaron and Patience Bousel, had moved to Ormstown, Quebec, so Paul and I met them in their new home and took a trip to close-by Montreal and to Quebec City. Joshua was 6 months old at the time; although we brought him along for the visit, we left him with a baby-sitter when we took off on our little "vacation."Ormstown
At first I didn't remember that we brought Joshua on the first part of this journey to Canada until I saw him in the stroller! (I guess Paul took this picture...I guess he was getting the house and not Josh and me!) This was my second trip to Quebec; the first one was when I was about 12. It was also my first trip to Montreal! Ormstown is a small town about an hour southwest of Montreal and about 20 minutes north of the U.S. Border, on the Chautauqua River and close-by Chautauqua Lake. When Aaron and Paishy lived there is was primarily English-speaking; now it is about 65% Francophones.
L'Afrique au du Quebec (Safari Park in Hemmingford, Quebec)
We drove around Safari Park in the car where we got to see a wide variety of animals up close and personal!
Quebec City
I probably would not have remembered where this photo was taken if Quebec City wasn't currently on my Grand Vacation tour, but now I know it well. This is on the Plains of Abraham in front of the Citadel. We did go into the Citadel to watch the changing of the guard.
Montreal
We didn't take a ride on the buggy, but we enjoyed a visit to Old Montreal. This photo is taken in front of the port. One day I will take that buggy ride!
