1986

Spring

In 1986 Paul and I took Josh and a group of students on a spring break trip to England.  It was great fun traveling with Josh, especially since the students made him their mascot!  We traveled with the American Council for International Studies (ACIS).

England

      London

Josh and me posing with the Cavalry Guard at Buckingham Palace.

When you go on tour with a 7-year old you hit different sites!  Here is Josh and me at Madame Tussauds with George Harrison himself (taken when he was very much alive)>

   Stratford-on-Avon

I'm not exactly sure what was going on here in Stratford-on-Avon, but perhaps they were celebrating Shakespeare's birthday, one that Paul shares?  We did take Joshua to the Globe to see Romeo and Juliet; it was an interesting interpretation with the show closer to West Side Story.  It was set in New York in the 1950's complete with a convertible car on stage!  It was a great introduction to Shakespeare for Joshua.

   Stonehenge

I wish I had a photo with one of us in it!  Stonehenge in 1986 or 96 looks the same!  Actually, I think the last time we went there were paths and cords kept us at a distance!

   Salisbury

A more appropriate photo would probably be Salisbury Cathedral, but Joshua found the car a lot more interesting, and I love his attitude!

   Bath

Here is our whole group in Bath.  I'm embarrassed to say I don't remember any of their names!  I took so many student tours, it is difficult to remember who went on which one, and it seems our photos from this trip concentrated on Josh and me.  Obviously, the photographer was Paul!
